Nearby Gastronomy Delights

  • The Ciderworks - The Red Brick Road Cider is on the east side of the river. Pay Corey a visit and sample Cider and Gin that he handcrafts on site.  Have a quiet cider or gin or just hang out. On selected weekends, a food truck comes to the Ciderworks.
  • 41° South - Take a short drive out to Red Hill to the Salmon and Ginseng farm on Montana Road on the way to Mole Creek to sample the many Salmon and Ginseng products. A small cafe on site to enjoy light lunch or sample or sample its produce in the serenity of the peaceful countryside. 
  • Ashgrove Cheese - 15 minutes from Deloraine on the highway to Devonport to sample award winning cheeses, the tastiest milk, cream and butter.
  • Black Truffles can be found in Tasmania right here at the foot of the Western Tiers. June to August is truffle hunting season. Some places organises truffle hunts and tours. Truffles of Tasmania is the closest to Deloraine, about 10 minutes at Trickett Road of Dairy Plains road on the way to Mole Creek. The Truffledore is a  little further away in Lower Barrington which runs hunt and harvest tours during harvest season.
  • Forager Food Company in Red Hill employs a world class innovative freeze drying technique to not only produce freeze dried fruits and vegitable products, it also produces a range of mouth watering Rissottos. Door sales are priced well below retail outlet prices.
